Lord of Hope and Unity Ministries is ready to provide spiritual leadership and renewal through trained volunteers and clergy resources.
Lord of Hope and Unity Ministry’s short-term goal is to support temporary transitional housing needs. Our long-term goal is to open a Transitional Housing Facility to provide transitional housing and services for newly returning citizens who are reentering the community after release from the Palm Beach County Correctional Facilities.
Temporary Transitional Housing Support Grant
The Lord of Hope and Unity Ministries Restoration Center Transitional Support
Grant Amount: $1,000 First Allotment: $500 with conditions for one reinstatement
The Lord of Hope and Unity Ministries (LHUM) Restoration Center – Temporary Transitional Housing Support (TTHS) Grants will be made available to LHTM participants who meet the initial criteria and continue to meet the conditions for reinstatement of this grant. This is a selective grant, and all conditions must be met to receive the initial and the additional allotment.
TTHS Grant Qualifications:
Criteria
Individuals, or family groups, must meet the following criteria and must plan to live within a Palm Beach Community during the granting period.
- The following organizations are not eligible for TTHS for Grant support:
- Non-Profit or For-profit
- Disease-related
- Government agencies
- Hospitals, clinics or nursing homes
- Treatment centers or hospice programs
- Individuals with the following behaviors are not eligible for support:
- Substance abuse (alcohol, illegal drugs, Weed/Pot in all forms)
- No desire to live independent of illegal activities.
- Unwilling to follow conditions and steps presented for living independently.
Purpose
Lord of Hope and Unity Ministries (LHUM) Restoration Center Temporary Housing is available for individuals exiting the Palm Beach County Correctional Facility or recently released from a state or federal prison and have a desire to become successful independent within the community. The temporary housing is for up to 60 days and recipients will agree to participate in the success steps of “The Pathway to Independent Living” as individually designed by LHUM Team members. Temporary Housing units (hotel/motel, boarding homes, apartment, etc.) will be pre-determined by (LHUM) Restoration Center, Inc. and will establish a Memorandum of Understanding that support our connection.
Conditions for receiving a TTHS Grant:
All recipients of this grant will:
- Participation in all scheduled group activities from Monday-Friday and/or weekends
- Following Case management as needed for development and/or restoration of:
- ID Documentations process,
- Job Skills and Career Preparation through Counseling,
- Life Skills and Health Counseling through individual and Group sessions,
- Religious Enrichment Classes, and
- other special events that the LHU Ministries team members ask you to attend.
- Not allow any other persons (other than identified children) stay overnight in the transitional facility while you are in a LHUM funded placement.
- Remove self and all belongings once the funded time has expired.
- Understand if deciding to stay past the agreed upon time (one or two months) you will pay for staying with your own funds and LHUM will not be responsible for any additional payments.
- Abide by the curfew policy of the placement unless pre-arranged permission from the Facility staff and/or the Executive Director of LHU Ministries due to work or any predetermined emergencies.
- Follow all rules and guidelines of the placement facility. You understand that violation of this agreement will constitute immediate removal from the LHUM program and services.
